The skiing area of Merano 2000, with its 40 kilometres of ski runs, is barely half an hour’s drive from your holiday apartment in Marlengo. Sunny skiing days are guaranteed in a beautiful landscape high up on the plateau. The cross country skiing runs in Merano 2000 also guarantee a unique sporting experience on a circular route at 1,640 metres.
In the meantime, the skiing area of Schwemmalm im Ultental has recently become a particularly popular destination in South Tyrol. The family friendly skiing area is equally suited to beginners and experienced skiers, offering lots of fun and action on an approximately 18 kilometre ski run. The sunny ski area in Ultental regularly attracts a variety of events.
South Tyrol’s smallest ski resort, Pfelders/Plan in Val Passiria, is very convenient. The small village of Pfelders delights you with its rustic charm and is ideal for snow hiking across breath taking mountains. There is also an ice rink, where beginners are always in good hands. Allow about one hour’s drive time for a trip to Val Passiria. You won’t be disappointed!
Monte San Vigilo is well-known for its winter sports for families: a chairlift takes you to the small ski area with four ski lifts and 5 km of ski trails. Enjoy stress-free skiing close to nature on the sunny trails, ideal for children and relaxed skiers.
At the sport zone of Naturno it is possible to ice-skate and play ice hockey during the winter months. Skates and equipment can be borrowed. There are also two ice skating rinks (indoor and outdoor) in Meranarena in Merano.
Christmas Market
Advent in Merano is a time of wonder, enchantment and atmosphere amidst the Christmas bustle. The stalls of the “Christkindlmarkt“ open in December and stay open until the start of January. The traditional Christmas Market enchants with decorated stands, blazing lights, sweet scents, heart-warming tea and punch, traditional crafts and wonderful gift ideas. Advent wouldn’t be the same without a delightful stroll for the whole family along the promenade to the Christkindlmarkt in Merano.
