Thermal baths of Merano
These popular baths are ideal for some “me time” during the vacation: dive into one of the indoor or outdoor pools to enjoy the healing powers of thermal waters, find peace of mind in one of the many saunas and take care of your body in the excellent gym. Children are welcome and in the summer there is a specially tailored animation program for them at the weekend.
Horse racing track
On Via delle Palade in Maia Bassa there is the Maia horse racing track, one of the biggest and most beautiful in Europe. The season goes from May to October with two annual highlights: the traditional Haflinger horse race on Easter Monday and the Gran Prix of Merano Forst at the last weekend of September.
Right after Merano, heading for Val Venosta, there is the harmonious building complex of Forst Brewery, one of the biggest in Italy. Guided tours show the modern yet traditional techniques used to brew special beers. Tours are offered each Wednesday at 2 pm from Easter to mid October.
